Sweet Pea has now been Adopted

Sweet Pea came in from a high kill pound in the USA, she was so sweet and needed a home asap. Mighty Mutt along with the Mississauga Humane Society worked together to bring her to Canada. Once in foster care she was brought to the vet for a check-up only to find out that she had possibly been shot. After an exam – she seemed to have 3 pellets under her skin which were removed after x-rays were taken. They might have been from a shot gun, 3 pellets hit her at once and were floating around under her skin. Although they were not bothering her – they needed to be removed as they were most likely made of lead which could seriously poison her.

Now named Macy she has joined the foster failure club, after taking the heart of her foster mom!! Macy is now safe and sound, happy and healthy!!

Hannah (aka Harley) from Tennessee has been adopted

This beautiful girl came from a high kill pound in Tennessee she was surrendered as a result of a divorce 🙁

Not sure how people can just surrender a Dog but at least she now has a furever home!! This beauty stole the hearts of her foster parents so much so that they couldn’t let her go so they decided to adopt her. She now has a nice warm home with people who will love her forever.

Way to go Hannah 🙂

Trigger AKA lincoln from Tennessee has been adopted

2 year old, 20lb minpin mix

Lincoln was one of the most timid of the 23 Tennessee dogs that came in! It took his amazing foster mom almost half an hour to get him out of his travel crate because of all the commotion. Within the next couple of days Lincoln transformed into a beautiful little man, made many friends and stole the hearts of many. It is now time for this young boy to find his forever family and teach another human what it means to love.

Lincoln’s favorite place in the house is on the sofa and his favorite activity is a belly rub! He is friendly with other dogs & ignores the resident cat in his foster home.

Here is a video of Lincolns first day at a dog park in Canada:

Violet arrived with 20+ dogs the Mississauga Humane Society and Mighty Mutts brought in from Tennessee, she is adorable and loves to play. She no longer has to sleep on a cement floor in a pound, but now has a nice soft, warm bed.

She has found her furever home and has a new name PUMPKIN. Very fitting for a cutie like her.

Jethro from Tennessee has been adopted!

If you missed Jethro’s story: He slipped out of his collar last week and gave us all a huge scare when he was missing for over 24 hours! Volunteers immediately came out to search and post flyers…finally we got a call that a family had picked him up the first day and had him the whole time! They were very upset that they had to give him up…then they were told that he…was available for adoption! They sent in their application and the process began! Amazingly they were the PERFECT MATCH for Jethro! Good job Jethro on being the first MHS dog in HISTORY to find your OWN forever home!

Thank you to all the amazing volunteers who dropped what they were doing to help search for Jethro and post flyers!

Caspian got adopted

Caspian (aka Chance) was scheduled to be euthanized on several occasions – he was born on the streets and picked up as a feral – when the vet would go to get him to put him to sleep he would hide or avoid capture taking up too much time…and that is the only reason he is alive today!

Jasper is so sweet, when he sees you he doesn’t jump like most dogs, he literally puts his paws around you while up on his back feet, squeezes you with his arms and tucks his head into you. He gives Human Hugs!!

His foster ended up being a “foster failure” and fell in love with him and couldn’t let him go so he now has his forever home and his new name Jasper.
Love a Happy Ending!!
